Born in Austin, TX but spending most of my life in Los Angeles, CA before coming to Charlotte in 2008, I like to say the Queen City is the perfect amalgamation of things to do, Southern hospitality, and value living. I simply love it here and have no intention of leaving.
With a degree in Business Finance and Real Estate, I spent most of my career around real estate while working in banking, finance and lending with industry leaders Countrywide Home Loans, Bank of America and then B2R Finance. Through this experience, I've gained a firm understanding of markets, investments, negotiations and spent many years dealing with investors.
Upon leaving Bank of America in 2012, I became a licensed real estate broker and realtor in both South and North Carolina. I spent the better part of two years working with hedge-fund backed national investors (with funds in excess of $500 million) who were flipping and/or buying-to-rent single family residences across the country. As a National Acquisition Director for my firm this entailed building and training a national network of brokers who scoured their local markets for properties meeting the requirements of our investors. Additionally, we co-represented a similar Wall Street backed investor who purchased over 3,000 homes in the Charlotte, Raleigh, and Durham area within this time frame.
In addition to recruiting & training brokers, negotiating and executing contracts for purchase, coordinating the platform, I built technology to scour the local MLS for properties our clients would be interested in. I also oversaw the team of underwriters and closing specialists as we scaled-up along with our investors. In short, this cumulative experience gives me a unique perspective on the housing market, and how to help people find what they're looking for whether its a single home or a portfolio.
These days, I'm excited to be part of Martin Group Properties as I have admired Greg and his team as local leaders for years. Their genuine concern for their clients and authentic relational approach resonates with the way I approach life.
I am blessed with a beautiful wife, Annabelle, and two young daughters. Most of our time is spent at our local church and with our friends and acquaintances. Although, on occasion, I do get to play a game of rec-league soccer.
