Allison was born and raised in Kannapolis, NC. She attended South Rowan High School and graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Elementary Education. While earning her degree, she worked as a leasing consultant and early childhood teacher. Upon receiving her degree, she began a career as a licensed educator in both North and South Carolina and taught for 5 years. Allison and her husband (Philip) of 4 years reside in Cabarrus County, along with their chocolate lab (Macy) and tabby cats (Anakin & Obi).
